Depending on the number of people living in a house, it can be used up to five times a week, an amount that shows us how important it is to maintain it properly to avoid problems and unforeseen events. However, it may happen that, even so, the spin does not perform well and that we have to get to work to see what happens. In today’s post, we help you with this task.
What is centrifugation?
Spinning is the process by which the washer removes excess moisture from clothes. There are different types of spin, conditioned by the revolutions per minute (that is, the maximum number of revolutions per minute that a drum gives) to which the washing machine operates; This means that the more revolutions you work, the less moisture will remain on your clothes. Thus, for example, while spinning at 600 rpm eliminates 20% moisture, spinning at 1,000 rpm can suppress up to 60% humidity.
What reasons can there be for a washing machine not to spin?
There are many reasons why a washing machine has a malfunction.
One of the most frequent is that you have put too much load in the washing machine or, failing that, very large clothes, such as bedding for example, that cakes during the washing process. This causes that the weight is not distributed well and that the spin cycle goes very slow, giving the impression that it is failing. Avoid placing clothes evenly.
On the other hand, it is quite common that the connection cable to the power outlet is not properly connected or is damaged. Therefore, it must be checked to rule out that this is the reason why the spin is not done well. It is also likely that the drainpipe is clogged or twisted, which prevents water from draining normally. If the tube is bent, try to align it, and if you can’t do it, you will have to replace it with a new one.
Another reason why the washer does not spin is that the water pump (the part that expels water from the drum through the drain pipe) is damaged.
It is also possible that the washer motor is the one that is failing. If this is what happens, you will know it because of the strong burning smell that your appliance will give off and because, in addition, the differential will jump. We recommend that if this happens, quickly disconnect the washing machine from the electric current and check if the motor is induction.
Whatever the reason why your washer does not work well, we recommend that you contact your trusted official technical service to have a technician examine your appliance and decide what is happening. It is the best way to avoid major problems that can result in having to buy a new device.
